My Spring Wardrobe Staples

I spent a whole summer trying to find the perfect wrap dress and after many hours of shopping online and in many, many stores I found the perfect dress in Reformation. I’m not going to lie, the process of trying to get this dress was stressful, especially when they first send you the wrong colour, but it was 100% worth it. It’s the perfect length and material for the transition of spring into summer.

In the words of Miss Congeniality all you need is a light Jacket … as long as its not raining. Even when I was three years old I always reached for my denim jacket (yep all about the double denim), it was the best spring pick its light enough that you’re not wearing a coat but still keeps you warm enough in the days its still slightly chilly.

The perfect shoe for spring (in my opinion) the loafer! The best shoe when it’s not warm enough for sandals but you don’t want to wear full shoe, whether they are  £50 or £500 pounds the loafer always makes your outfit look more put together and classy.  Tbh I live in my loafers most of the year, even if I freeze my toes off half the time.

We all love a good pair of mom jeans! And my perfect pair for spring are the slightly more skinny fitted. The best place to get the perfect fit and style for you is BDG, they give you the perfect shape and aren’t too baggy that make you look like you’re wearing an over full diaper.

In spring stripes are my go to look, they just add slightly more colour into your wardrobe and break away from the monotone looks of winter. My most recent striped t-shirt purchase comes from Brandy Melville, which is also slightly cropped which is my go to on a warm sunny day. It’s bright and colourful that’s great for the slightly warmer spring days. Another one of my favorite striped t-shirts is from Asos, its slightly less colourful but still looks amazing with a pair of mom jeans.

For that extra pop of colour I’m always reaching for my red brandy Melville jumper, it’s the perfect thing to add a bit more colour into your spring wardrobe with a pair of patterned trousers or a good pair of skinny jeans.

My Summer Beauty Essentials.

With the sudden outburst of sunshine in the UK, would be the perfect time for my summer beauty essentials. Even though it was (clearly) short lived it’s just in time for your summer travels where we all want to look like the effortless beach babe and not like the overcooked lobster (lets be honest we’ve all been there).

Starting with skincare, one thing that everyone needs in summer: sunscreen. Coola’s sunscreenthat I discovered last year on one of many trips to Sephora and me being me forgot to take skin protection to Santa Monica beach in 90c heat, so this came as a godsend being factor 50 and it also smells amazing, seriously smells like summer in a bottle.  Another skincare must for the evenings or after a cool shower to wash the sea salt out of your hair is Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum creamit leaves your skin silky smooth with a subtle shimmer that leaves your skin glowing and hydrated.

Moving on to the more nighttime summer skincare, a must for your face after a long day at the beach or a day in the sun, is hydration because even with the ton of water you’re drinking it’s always good to give your face that little extra, so we can all wake up in the morning like Cher from clueless. I always reach for the Tatcha water creamor the Kopari coconut melt, both essentially do the same thing but it depends on your price range and your personal preference of the product. But before the hydration I always love to use a good serum, two I reach for the most in the summer are the Glossier Super Glowand the Estee Lauder advanced night repair, depending on the day the night repair is the best for after a long day at the beach where you may not have used just enough sun protector on your face and are borderline on the verge of lobster face, trust me this will clear that up over night and no one will be able to tell the next day. The Glossier however is more for that extra summer Glow in the morning when you just want to look radiant and well rested.

I’m not really one for wearing too much makeup whilst in the Sun but if you’re heading out for the evening or just want to look like you’ve made a little more effort for your day I tend to reach for The It Cosmetics CC creamvery light coverage but just makes your skin look flawless. I also tend to reach for the Nars Highlighter Palettejust for that extra beachy sun kissed glow.  Lip wise I like to keep it simple with a little glitter from glossier (bonus points if you put it on your lids too) with the Balm dotcom; run the brows over with a quick boy browand you’re good to go.

Fragrance is a real key to my summer and Holidays every perfume or candle reminds me of a different place or a time in my life that always puts a smile on my face. My go to scents for this year are Tom Ford soleil Blanc honestly just smells like LA to me also the Byredo Gypsy Water hairperfume that just transports me to the clear blue waters of Greece.  Another Summer Must is a great candle; Diptique Mimosais one of my most loved scents that remind me of so many amazing trips and times in my life.

Haircare Wise I tend to not do a lot I usually just stick it up In a messy bun or just leave it to curl with the sea water. But there is one thing that I do love in the summer and that’s the Ouai wave spray, or as I call it beach waves in a bottle, you just spray it in after your shower whilst your hair’s still damp and give it a quick scrunch and ta dah natural beachy waves, trust you’re going to want to stock up on this.

 Ciao xx

Where to go in London according to Lori

Hey guys I wasn’t planning to have so much of a time gap between the two posts but I’m not going to lie this is slightly scary and definitely harder than you ever plan it to be especially when before you started it all came to you like at the click of your fingers and I know its not going to be perfect no matter how much you want it to be, but that’s life (insert sassy emoji) so lets do this lets attempt to be a less graphic Carrie Bradshaw.  So here the places in my opinion of where to happily waste your time in London, basically my second home, and I know some of you may think why there and not here but this is just my perfect spot’s to spend my days and let me know where you want to go and who knows maybe I’ll change my mind?? Also lets just establish this is going to be a lot of places to get food!

·     *Farmgirl(Notting hill) if you want somewhere cozy and chilled for breakfast and lunch it’s a cute little hang out in the centre of Notting hill not too far from the very colorful Portobello market. Also would seriously highly recommend the baked aubergine.

·     Liberty(Great Marlborough St.)  Shopping at its finest with a slight bit of history can’t go wrong with liberty being one of the most historical spots in London and also a great place where you can literally buy anything from candles to carpets. Also worth checking out inside the jewelry section is the Maria Tash piercing pop-up.  (Bonus tip at Christmas make sure to check out the top floor to experience Christmas goals).

·     Harrods(Knightsbridge) Literal wardrobe goals, honestly its worth going to ride the fancy escalator to the shoe heaven alone. If you’ve got time to spare go to the food hall and do fantasy food shop (because £78 on cheese is ok here- that’s if you can successfully digest dairy)

·     Sketch(Mayfair) instagram goals and good food.

·     Hyde parkhighly recommended on a sunny day but then again be prepared to meet half of London.

·     *Crosstown(Soho) They don’t look like the craziest donuts in London but trust me they are soooo good I especially recommend the PB+J

·     Selfridges(Oxford ST.) What I like to call my second home, the place that has everything that you need, can’t find a beauty product anywhere else you bet that Selfridges is the one that has it.  Also in the food hall check out pressed juicery healthy and so good.

·     Harvey Nichols(Knightsbridge) The place of cute and quirky brands from home and further a field.

·     *Raw Press(Ellis ST) Great place for an Acai bowl and a ginger shot

·     *Deliciously Ella(Weighhouse ST.) A small detour in-between Selfridges and Victoria’s Secret, highly recommend the brownie.

·     *Detox kitchen(Soho) Clean and fresh food with some mean snacks and great Matcha.

·     Shake shack(Covent Garden) Fries, fries, fries. Honestly the best burgers in London they also do a pretty mean black + white milkshake.

·     *By Chloe(Covent Garden) Basically shake shack but the vegan version but still amazing.

·     Green ParkThe Park that everyone goes to when Hyde Park is full on a sunny day/ can’t be bothered to walk that far.

·     Covent Gardenapple market, best place for street performers and art displays on the holidays.

·     Seven dialsThe center between Covent Garden and theatre district.

·     South Kensington The chilliest friendliest place in London for all your dining needs.

·     V&A museum (Cromwell) BEAUTIFUL

·     Saatchi Gallery (Kings Road) The best contemporary art exhibits (The Rolling Stones was AMAZING)

·     Somerset House just next door to kings college and also a really awesome place to go to a gig.

·     Natural History museum A great place for dinosaur artifacts if you love that as much as I do (secretly wish Jurassic park was real…minus the whole killing part)

·     Hanover Square A cute little tiny park in the center of the shopping madness perfect when you just need to step away from the crowds for a minute.

·     Yorika (Soho)Cute Vegan and gluten free ice cream parlor with major topping options.

·     Lina Italian deli (Soho) Cute Italian deli full of all your carb and cheese needs.

·     Petersham nurseries(Covent Garden) All your future garden and house goals all in one.

·     Kings Road Chelsea, the road for all your shopping needs a short distance from the Saatchi gallery.

Seasonal
·     British summertime Hyde park in the summer, its like a mini music festival every weekend in the summer with amazing artists (previously seen: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Tom Petty, Kings of Leon)

·     BST movie night Pretty much the same as the music but instead of music it’s the English version of Cinespia

·     Winter wonderland Hyde Park CHRISTMAS LAND

Yet to try in London: Dishoom, Elan (I’ll let you know how they go).
*Vegan friendly
