I’m Feeling 22

Every year I get harder and harder to buy gifts for on my birthday, mainly because I don’t really want those 500 different Barbie dolls anymore, and because it’s getting to that stage in my life when if I see something I want I buy it and I like knowing that ‘yeah I am capable of looking after and treating myself now without saving up months of pocket money’.

This year was no different but I’m pretty sure my closest friend’s and family did a good job of spoiling and surprising me this year. Lets say this year my birthday was definitely a four day event that honestly I’m so sad its over.

Birthday day No.1
The first day me and one of my closest friends decided to do something that we never do… which was probably not a good idea for someone with scoliosis and another who just had jaw surgery (insert monkey covering eye emoji here). But even so, we thought it’s sunny, it’s better than being at work lets go to a theme park, which let me tell you was the funniest day - minus the queuing but everyone knows even if the ride is just 3mins long its 100% worth it, followed by a meal with my favourite people, the first day really started my birthday with a bang and maybe a slight concussion.

Birthday day No.2 (The actual Birthday)
For the day we just tried to bring LA to England it was for sure the theme of the day and the fact that it was above 20c for once really helped.  I woke up to the cutest little display of confetti filled balloons, rose gold banners and of course peony’s, not forgetting the presents also. For the start of my 22ndyear all I asked for was a lie in and a good workout (that’s when you know you’ve truly reached adulthood). That and you use your birthday to have more than one cheat day and yes I did try to recreate Alfred in the alleys bagels.

Day No.3
Start the day with cake well birthday cupcakes in my case (sprinkles recreations). As one of my birthday gifts me and my sister headed down to London to do some holiday shopping and indulge in fancy food at Sketch, which is one of my favourite places for dinner in London, yes its pricey and when it first comes out you’re like ooh that’s quite a small portion but OMG its amazing and its way more about the quality than the quantity, especially when your inside the most beautiful pink interior designed dinning hall. If you ever go I recommend the Sketch chocolate dessert.

Day No.4
The last but not least day was spent in London receiving two of my birthday gifts, both from my sister and they did not disappoint. We started to the morning planning the first gift over the most amazing pitaya bowls from Farmgirl Carnaby St. then slowly made our way over to Maria Tash in Liberty where I was treated to an outer helix rose gold hoop piercing and even though I went first and assured her it didn’t hurt it was quite uncomfortable (worth it though). We then spent most of the remaining day in Selfridges, which was slightly anti-climatic when everything I wanted to buy was out of stock.

After all the shopping and many iced Matcha lattes later we spruced ourselves up dropped off the many shopping bags, picked up a quick burger in By Chloe and made our way, along with thousands of other people to Wembley Stadium for my Second present of the day. We definitely thought it was an appropriate gift to go see Taylor Swift for my 22ndBirthday, even though she didn’t actually sing 22 she did bring out Robbie Williams and put on one hell of a show (so I’ll forgive her), it was a great way to end my birthday celebrations especially with the Stranger rings donut time when we got home.

Thank you to everyone for all my gifts and birthday wishes I truly love you and appreciate you all, even though I did tell some of you not to worry about gifts you truly did spoil me this year.
